You Rock My World

Our Ribbon Carousel challenge theme this month (you still have a few more days to play along) is LOVE.

This is the Valentine's Day card that I made for my husband.  I just adored this Valentine Betty digital image from Simply Betty Stamps and couldn't wait to color her up.  I paired her with MFT's Lovey Dovey Sentiments which I embossed with white embossing powder for a chalkboard art look.  I just love the way the sentiment pops!!  I kept the card design simple with a small bit of designer paper from Carta Bella (Paris Girl) and Bazzill's Licorice Twist cardstock.  The image was fussy cut and popped up with foam tape for dimension as well as the "XO" letters which were created with MFT's By The Letter dies.  The cards matted layers were created using my Perfect Layers Tool.

Lollipop, Lollipop Oh Lolli-Lolli Lollipop

Oh Mercy, it's happened again....weeks since my last post.  

I don't know how these days just keep running away from me?!?  

Today, I'm excited to share a SWEET and crazy fun new Lollipop Cover die from Your Next Stamp.  They make THE perfect little Valentines for your kids to take to school.  I created over twenty of these little suckers (pun intended, LOL) for Nathan's Kindergarten class.  I used only used 3 sheets of Kraft cardstock and was able to assemble them all in less than an hour.   That's a pretty sweet deal in my book!!

I'm CRAZY for chalkboards....seriously, you should see how many are in my house.  ;)  And yet, this is the first chance I've had to try the Chalkboard Art trend that is so HOT right now.  I was impressed with how very easy it was to do....and how much fun it was too!!  :)  I added a tiny clothes pin and used bits of striped cording to keep the covers closed.

I cannot, cannot get over how goofy and adorable, Spike the Frog is from the new YNS Critter Crew Collection.  He's just so darn happy looking that it's just impossible not to smile looking at him.  :)  My card was created using designer papers from My Mind's Eye - Happy Go Lucky collection.  I used some gorgeous satin pleated plum ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel and then added a few rhinestones to it.  The sentiment was computer generated using the Enchanted Castle font and then cut out with the heart die from the brand new YNS Whatnot die collection.  Both the image and the sentiment were popped up with foam tape for dimension.

All My Heart

Good Afternoon!!  I had such a good time last night with my blogging friend Tracy of Tracy's Stamping Corner that I forgot to schedule my post for today.  Oops!!   Eddie and I met Tracy and her husband Chris for dinner and drinks and ended up chatting until very early in the morning.  Tracy and I are always talking about how crazy similar our lives are, I swear it's like meeting yourself in a parallel universe.  LOL!!  We had a blast together and hope we get the chance to do it again soon.

For my card today, I've used another fabulous sketch from The Sweet Stop along with one of the newest released Tiddly Ink Wryn's...Heartfelt Love. Are you head over heels for Wryn like I am?!?!  Well, I happen to know that there are even more sweet Wryns to come soon so you'll want to check out Christy's Blog where you can find a new release every Tuesday.  

Since the image is digital, I created the sentiment in a text box and printed them both together.  I used some gorgeous new papers from Glitz (Pretty In Pink) which you can find at SCACD.  I embossed kraft cardstock with an embossing folder and brushed on some white ink with a stippling brush to bring the design out.  I made a sweet little bow with my Bow Easy with some beautiful Rubytoned Vintage Seambinding from the Ribbon Carousel which is a perfect match to the papers.

Be Mine....or Else!!

It's a new Tiddly Ink's Challenge...

~ Valentines ~

I decided to create a Valentine with a bit of an attitude using Tiddly Inks, Whatever!   I have a similar pose (crossed arms and tilted head) when my husband is not doing something my way!!  LOL   I bet lots of you do too, right?!?!  :)  

The papers are My Mind's Eye, Union Square (I promise I do have other paper pads, LOL).  I used a crimper tool that I had completely forgotten I had, for a fun corragated cardboard look.  I tied the ends of some Black Crocheted Lace from the Ribbon Carousel in knots and frayed the ends.  The heart was created with Spellbinders Scalloped and Classic heart dies and popped up with foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment is believe it or not...handwritten.  And a few black rhinestone hearts that I thought I'd NEVER use make it complete.  :)

With the holiday's over the Ribbon Carousel is back in the full swing of things and we're ready with this week's challenge... Danielle's "Go To" sketch.

It's a fabulous sketch to use with images from this weeks sponsor, Some Odd Girl.

Here's my card using Some Odd Girl's Tiny Bubbles Tia which is an adorable digital image that was generously provided to me by Kristy.

I did a little machine stitching along the back panel of designer papers from My Mind's Eye (Love Me ) and used some gorgeous Rubytone Vintage Seam Binding and my last small scrap of Ivory Crocheted Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.

Sweet Stop Sketch 141

Happy Saturday Everyone!!

I'm teaching a class at Stamp & Scrap A'Latte in Spring Hill, Florida today and we will be coloring this sweet Whipper Snapper Designs image, Hugs for Ike.  I'm using this adorable duo as an example on  how you can use your Copics to color black and white with high contrast.  

I've used papers from Echo Park (Yours Truly) and popped the image panel up with foam tape for dimension. A touch of Star Dust Stickles was added to give the snow some sparkle.  Using a banner die for the sentiment and a scrumptious strip of Silver Pleated Satin Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel turned out to be fabulous elements to complete this weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop.

TGF Blog Hop

Happy New Year Everyone!!  It's release day at The Greeting Farm.  I hope you've been enjoyed the last week or so of TGF previews.  The wait is finally over and all SIX new releases are available for purchase today in The Greeting Farm Store!!

I saved my favorite Miss Anya Garland project to share with you today.  I just love her darling little string of daisies and her braided hair.  :)  I used DP from My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found - Sunshine) and added a lacy paper doily.  The Leather Tan Vintage Seam Binding from the Ribbon Carousel was tied in a double bow with my Bow Easy and an American Crafts button added to the center.

And last but not least is CC Madden...isn't she so COOL?!?!  I LOVED coloring her face and all that hair!!  I've used patterned paper from My Mind's Eye (Love Me).  The largest Spellbinders Scalloped and Classic Heart dies made a fabulous design element and gave me an excellent place to stamp a sentiment from My Favorite Things.  I added a scalloped border along the bottom and then wrapped around some fun Black Wired String which I tied in a little bow!!  I added even more layers and texture by topping the border with 5/8" Silver Satin Pleated Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.

I hope everyone had a magical Christmas, I know that I did!!  We are all still basking in the joy of  Christmas family time here in my house, as my husband doesn't go back to work until next week!!  :)

We have been having so much fun that I ALMOST forgot it was time for me to showcase more of The Greeting Farm images that will be available for purchase in just a few short days on Jan 1st.  :)  But first...I just have to say that I have been BLOWN away by the amazing welcome that I received last week from TGF friends and followers!!  Everyone left me the SWEETEST comments that I wanted to take a moment to say "THANK YOU for making me feel so very special!!"  xoxo  <3 <3

Now....let me introduce to you one of the newest TGF stamp sets, Handmade By.  There are 13 stamps in all and let me tell you...these stamps are SO much fun.  You can use them on the back of your cards or as cute little design elements on your cards or even on gift 

tags like I have.  

I've created a simple Valentines gift tag using the Made With Love sentiment from the Handmade By stamp set.  My papers are from the My Mind's Eye (Love Me) paper pad and scrunched up and pleated some Red 1" Grosgrain Satin Edged Ribbon and Black Vintage Seam Binding both which are from the Ribbon Carousel.  

This tag matches a card that I will show you in a few more days....such a tease, I know!!  LOL  

This time I used the sweet little Bar Code Heart image from the Handmade By stamp set and stamped it using Walnut Stain Distressing Ink.  Isn't it ADORABLE?!?   I then grabbed for some text paper from the My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found - Sunshine) paper pad and paired it with of course more ribbon (5/8" Antique Gold Satin Scalloped Edge) from the Ribbon Carousel.  The nylon wired butterfly I picked up a few years ago at an Scrapbook Expo. 

Okay, that's it from me today....back to more snuggling on the sofa with my little loves!!

I'm a TGF Premier Farmer!!

What is a The TGF Premiere Farmer?  It's a small group of designers that have been hand selected by Jess and Marie of The Greeting Farm to bring to you a broader spectrum of samples and ideas than you've ever seen before during preview week!!  And they picked me....ME!!!!  OMGosh, if you guys only knew how crazy excited I have been and how hard this has been to keep to myself....I've been about to bust!! :)  I'm so tickled to have been selected to be a part of this amazing team of ladies!!  :)    

I was very excited to get started with one of newest stamp sets...Miss Anya Garland.  And today I'm going to share with you two projects from this adorable stamp set. 

I decided to keep the card design simple so that Miss Anya with her sweet little hearts on a string could take center stage.  I didn't even reach for any designer papers...just embossed some kraft cardstock, a scalloped square, and some luscious 3/4" V Striped Red Twill from the Ribbon Carousel.  

For my next project, I created a Valentines treat box (which holds 3-4 Ghiradelli chocolates) with Miss Anya holding a banner.   

I so enjoyed creating something for Valentines and taking a little break from all the Christmas projects!!   Not to mention I've been dying to play with my newest paper pad from My Mind's Eye (Love Me) ever since I got it.  :)   Star Dust Stickles was added to the hem of Miss Anya dress and I popped the image up with foam tape for dimension.  And once again, I used some gorgeous 5/8" Fushia Satin Scalloped ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel and tied a tiny little bow using my Bow Easy.

Making this treat box is so VERY simple.  For the base I used the largest Spellbinders Classic Hearts & Scalloped Hearts dies.  Next, to create the box you simply cut a 4" x 4" square and a 4 1/8" x 4 1/8" square for the lid.  Score both squares at one inch on all sides.  Fold on your score lines, cut your slits and adhere with Scor-Tape or other strong adhesive.  Creating the entire box, honestly only took me five minutes!!    I plan to make more to give to the kids for Valentines!!  xoxo  :)

Happy Anniversary

It's Saturday and that means a new super awesome sketch from The Sweet Stop!

I've used Lili of the Valley, Love Grows as an anniversary card for my sister and her husband.  They celebrated 17 years together this Valentine's Day.

Not having the proper pink/rose colored felt I need to match my DP, I pulled out my Copic R02 marker and colored a square of white felt before using the rolled rose die.  I've not been thrilled with my results using this die with paper (I can't make it look right - operator error again) but I LOVED using the felt!!  Oh, and when you're coloring felt with your Copic's you might want to pat it dry with a scrap piece of paper.  Some ink droplets form and don't soak into the felt completely.

LOADS of Love

This exhausted little sweetheart is Laundry, by The Greeting Farm.  You can find her along with a huge collection of The Greeting Farm stamps at 7 Kid's College Fund.  I've had this stamp for almost year and am just now getting the chance to ink it up.  I think this makes a perfect Friendship Valentines.   Even though this is the first time I've had a chance to use this stamp,  I am always coming up with tons of ideas for her...I think she'd make an awesome Mother's Day card or a cute decorated coin jar for my niece who's in college and uses those coin operated machines at her dorm.

After using a paper piercer, I distressed and inked my October Afternoon papers (Thrift Shop & Fly a Kite) edges with Antique Linen & Frayed Burlap distressing ink.  The paper heart doily received the same ink treatment.  Much of her laundry is paper pieced with the same DP and shaded with various Copic markers for depth.  The border punch is Fiskar's, Upper Crest which I LOVE and don't see used very often.   A tiny antique gold rhinestone heart was attached to the mini clothes pin which really is holding that little bow onto the card.  The sentiment is computer generated using NewWGL4font (yes, that's the name) and Times New Roman.

This weeks 7 Kids College Fund Challenge is

We'd like to see anything with hearts on it.  Shouldn't be too hard to play along with Valentine's Day right around the corner.  :)

   I saw this sentiment somewhere out in blogland and knew that I wanted to use it too.  So I decided to pair it up with my Pink Cat Studio's, Robot Boy.  I get a HUGE kick out of using a stamp for lots of different occasions/purposes.  

I've been hoarding this DP forever (for a scrapbook layout) but decided to go ahead and use it since I haven't touched a scrapbook in years!!  I hand-drew the heart and popped it up on foam tape.  The sentiment is computer generated and I used an opaque white pen to make stitch marks to make it match the ribbon.
