My First Coloring Tutorial

This weeks Sweet Stop Sketch is all about PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I had my heart set on using this adorable digital image from The Paper Shelter called I May Have Exaggerated A Bit.  The second I saw all that fun hair of her's I couldn't wait to color it....so she has PINK hair.  This is the first time I have ever colored hair something other than a natural color...and I LOVED it!!

I've also created a Coloring Tutorial on YouTube showing you how I colored her hair.  Keep in mind...This is my first video so go easy on me.  Nathan was playing trains right under my table (LOUDLY) and he kept trying to be part of the "show" by sticking his toys, etc. under the camera...Grrr.  At one point Nathan and Brooke BOTH climbed into the same chair I was in so they could get a better look, which is totally "normal" but a little difficult when you're trying to shoot a video of you coloring.  I was able to edit most of the distracting madness out....Anyway...I hope you enjoy it!!  :)

The Last Rays of Summer

Like most of you, my cards will begin to take on those warmer and deeper earth tone colors with the change of season.  However, here in Florida it's not even close to Autumn, regardless what the calendar says.  But for those of you who have already began to feel the crisp and cooler days of fall; I give you my little Florida girl, soaking up the last rays of summer!!  Isn't her outfit adorable?!?!  Both the butterfly and the half pearls were both originally white.  They were colored to match my card with my Copic markers...don't you just love that you can do that?!?!?

The Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog's new challenge this week is to use LAYERS.....at least 2.  Come on now, most of us use 2 or more with every card so this challenge will be super duper easy!!  I hope you will come over and play along with us.

Taking a Copic Poll

Good Morning Everyone!!

I'm considering not listing the Copic Markers that I use with each of my projects. It's time consuming, but I don't mind if I know that it's something that the majority of you appreciate. I know that when I first began to use Copic's and even now when I see a beautifully colored image I look to see what colors they used. Sometimes I've found some of my favorite blending colors this way.

So do me a favor and cast a vote as to whether you would like for me to continue. I'll leave the poll up until September 30th and let the majority rule!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just "Bee"cause

Good Morning Everyone!!
It's Tuesday and that means it's a 2 Cute Tuesday!!

I decided to FINALLY make an easel card, (now that it is "so last year" LOL)  They are really a lot of fun and perfect for when you want to fit a little more stuff on your card.  I've used Bumble Bee Cutie which is a new release from 2 Cute. I got so excited when I saw him and starting thinking of all kinds of fun ideas to use him for.  I also remembered that I had this little wooden bee and bee hive that would be perfect.  I have seriously had them for 15 years.  And the button is most likely 10 years old.  You know that stash that you just know you'll use some day?  Well I can't tell you how good it felt to actually use them.  LOL  (Great, now I've made myself sound like a hoarder.  LOL)

Challenges:
Your Next Stamp = #21 Easel Card
Meljens Designs = #17 Easel Card
Stamp Scrap Doodle = Digital image
CAS-tastic Challenges = #13 Inspired by summer

I Sea it's your Birthday!!

Good Morning!!  I had a great vacation and I promise to post some pictures later this week.  I wanted to thank everyone for stopping by last week and leaving me such sweet comments.  (I would sneak a peek at them on my cell phone.)  LOL

It's 2 Cute Tuesday which means it's time for another DT card.
I've created this under the sea porthole card for my brother-in-law's birthday using Sting Ray Kids.  It's hard to tell from the photo above, but there is clear acetate in front of the image to really give it that feeling that your looking through glass.  The porthole is also popped up with dimensionals to give it depth.  I used my C3 Copic marker to give a very heavy shadow on the image so that it looks like the porthole is casting a shadow on the water.  Don't they look like that they're in an aquarium?  I added Glossy Accents to their eyes and Shimmerz to the coral and seaweed.

Challenges:
Sentimental Sundays = #11 I can see clearly now
Cupcake Craft Challenge = #99 Acetate
Ai Factory = #43 Green with Envy (reused acetate from packaging)

Aud Sentiments - Challenge # 6

Wow, it's time for another Aud Sentiments challenge. This is our 6th challenge where we are mixing it up this time and challenging you to use...No Sentiment.  Hey...could it get any easier?!?!  So come on and join us, this challenge will run until July 19th.

  Our sponsor is

I used a technique that I had never tried before by allowing the image to flow out of the framed nestibilities shape.  It has such a WOW factor and is so easy.  The image is a digital stamp from our sponsor called,  Bonnie. This little sweetie reminds me so much of my daughter, Brooke.   She doesn't have a bunny, but an Eeyore.  Eeyore goes EVERYWHERE that Brookie goes.  Thank God he has never become lost.  I seriously don't think she'd survive without him.

Here he is unattended and sporting the mowhawk hairdo she gives him every morning.  The second she realized that I was taking his picture, she snatched him from the table and told me NOT to take pictures of HER Eeyore.  LOL

This is how Eeyore and Brookie normally look...attached!!!
I actually washed him once and she screamed cried the entire time.  And if that wasn't bad enough, she laid down on floor in front of the washing machine until he came out.   See what I mean?  We can never loose him!  LOL

Freedom and Fireworks

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!

My family is celebrating our nation's birthday in our nation's oldest city... St. Augustine.  We go to the Castillo de San Marco Fort where we sit out on the lawn with our blankets and chairs (and of course food and drinks) play frisbee and wait for the fireworks.  It is such a beautiful place to celebrate the 4th and we've been going for a few years now.  It's such a sweet small town, it's the perfect place take the kids and spend time together as a family.  (It also helps that my sister and her family lives there too!!)

See isn't it pretty?

2 Cute Manatee Friends

I'm in a summer mood, are you?  It is BLAZING hot here in Florida,  actually it's too hot be be outside most of the day.  Even so, we still try to go outside and enjoy the sunshine a little bit everyday.

Since it is so hot outside I was going for a "cool" refreshing feeling with this adorable Manatee Friends digital image by 2 Cute Rubber Stamps.  Since this is a digital image I created a text box and did my sentiment right there alongside the image.  Super Easy!!  Don't know why I haven't thought to do this before.

I decided to embossed the DP with my Cuttlebug embossing folder to look like bubbles.  I then twisted and glued my ribbon to look like seaweed.  Not sure the satin ribbon was the best choice for this, but you get the idea.

Boys Will Be Boys - 2 Cards Today!!!

Real quick post with more Father's Day cards for you today.

Both images and sentiments are from Taylored Expressions, Boys Will Be Boys.
I stamped this image on Kraft cardstock and then colored it with my Copic markers.  Copic Creations has a challenge going on right now to use your Copics on "other" paper and since I had never tried that before, I decided this image would work perfectly to give it a go. I'm pretty impressed with how it came out actually. It's different coloring on Kraft because your colors don't show up how you normally expect them to, but I liked it.

Challenges:

Copic Creations = #30 "Other" paper
Paper Play Challenge = #24 Something Old (Designer Paper)
Raise The Ba= #23 What a Special Guy
My Time To Craft Challenge = #95 Xtra Special

Recipe:
DP: Recollections, Autumn & Basic Grey, Origins
Kraft Paper: Papertrey Ink
Brads: Unknown

Copics: E57, E35, E31, Y17, Y15, R29, R46, C7, C5, C3, C2, C1

And here's card # 2

Again, a quick and easy card.  Both of these cards were also made with my scraps!!!  (I swear, I get such a big kick out of using my scraps!!!)  The tie's were paper pieced and shaded with my C1 Copic marker.
