It's a new challenge at Aud Sentiments with
2 Cute Rubber Stamps as our sponsor.
This challenge is Anything Goes, so I decided to make another gift card holder so I could give you the tutorial that I promised.
(First....can you believe that I actually had paper that looked EXACTLY like the penguins hat!!! LOL)
It's going to be a little picture heavy and I might have even over done it, but I'm a visual learner so I guess I was trying to accommodate those who are more like me. :)

First you're going to need:
Nestibilities Labels 8 (The two largest sizes)
Scoring board (Scor-pal or Martha Stewart Kind)
Die Cutting Machine
Heavy Cardstock
2 or 3 designer papers
18" of ribbon
Craft knife
Strong Adhesive
Score a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock at
4" - 4 1/4" - 4 1/2"
ONLY fold at the 4 1/4" score
Using the LARGEST Labels 8
lay the folded side down just below
where the die is going to cut
You DO NOT want to cut the fold.
This is what it looks like after you have cut and unfolded the cardstock.
NOW fold on the other 2 score lines. This is your holder base.
Using a small piece of heavy cardstock (3" x 4 1/2")
Score all sides on the 1/2"
This is what the gift card will sit in
Cut where you see the black lines to the score line
(I forgot to take a picture of the next step)
Now you fold the ends up and secure with strong adhesive.
This will be where your gift card goes on the inside.
Before you start decorating...
You need to use your craft knife and make a slit
for your ribbon to go through.
This doesn't need to be pretty or exact...You won't ever see it.
This next photo just shows you all of the decorated panel pieces.
*Use the largest Labels 8 die to make your inside and outside pieces.
*The inside pieces you will remove 1/4" of an inch on one side
*You can also cut 1/4" long strips to cover the
spine of the holder on the inside and outside
*I also used the 2nd largest Labels 8 die to make
another decorative panel for the front of the holder.
Here you can see that I added the ribbon and the inside spine piece.
Now I have finished the inside with the pieces I had cut.
I also adhered the little box all the way against the
spine of the holder and on the bottom.
IMPORTANT: I would highly recommend putting a glue dot
on the gift card itself when you put it inside.
It could slip out if you don't secure it.
You don't want to hand someone an empty box!! LOL
It's almost finished. Now put the outside panels on.
Here it is again finished.
Shew!! Ohmygoodness!!! Did you guys make it?!?!? LOL
Well, I hope you like it. If there is anything you have a question on, just post a comment and I'll email you back with the answer and try to clarify anything.
If you make one....would you please share it with me? I'd love to see it!!
