Thanks a Bunch

Here's a card I created for a Copic coloring class I taught a while back at the My Favorite Things Boutique.  This Monkey Business image has now sadly been retired but I thought I'd show it to you anyway.  I started by stamping the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and of course colored him with Copics.  I then gave a fuzzy texture to his suit using a piece of terry cloth damped with colorless blender solution.  I paired designer papers from My Mind's Eye along Kraft and Dark Chocolate cardstock from Papertrey Ink.  I used the MFT Vine Border die with Ripe Avocado cardstock and embellish it with a few green rhinestones.

Copic Used:
Skin: E13, E11, E00, E50, R02
Suit: E44, E43, E42, E41 (colorless blender)
Bananas: YR24, YR31, E50
Grass: YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, YG23

Please forgive me, but it completely slipped my mind about posting my winner from the YNS Darling Diva hop.  :(  I feel so bad about it and apologize to everyone who may have been checking my blog for the winner.

The winner is....
Crafty Math Chick
Congrats and please send me an email (click on the envelope icon on the right sidebar) with your mailing address along with your Darling Diva choice and I'll get your prize out to you right away!!

Tanks so much!

This week our There She Goes Challenge is brought to us by Trendsetter of the week, Debby!
She's challenging us to dress up our coloring by adding Stickles, Glossy Accents, Glitter, etc.

I used this weeks There She Goes challenge to created a Thank You card for my next door neighbors.  They are the sweetest elderly couple and spoiled my kids rotten last week by bringing them each little treat bags of candy and movie passes for Halloween!!

I've had the idea for this card swimming in my head since the summer and I'm glad I finally had the chance to create it!!  ;)  I used a tiny little fish tank image from the super adorable There She Goes - Enjoy Life By the Sea stamp set.  I dressed up my coloring by adding Glossy Accents to the fish bowl.   I did a little machine stitched to the designer papers from My Mind's Eye (Tangerine) collection and used Deconstruction Sketch #73 for my layout.  The card layers were created using the Perfect Layers Perfect Layers tool and the sentiment is computer generated using a free font called Just The Way You Are.

Need more inspiration to help you get started? Then stop by the TSG Blog to see the amazing samples that the other Trendsetters have created this week and then play along with us!

Cute as a Button

What can we say about this new set from Torico, other than…it’s Cute As a Button?! The perfect sewing set for ANY crafter, full from top to bottom, end to end, with as MANY stamps as you could POSSIBLY need to make the perfect card or scrapbook page, this whimsically cute set is sure to have EVERYTHING you need to celebrate the crafter in your life!

Cute As a Button is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 33 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

I would say this was two days in a row without using Copics on a card, but that wouldn't be entirely true. I used R35 to color some white thread to match the pink flowers in this October Afternoon's Thrift Store designer paper. (I just KNEW one day I'd find a use for that vintage sewing pattern paper!!) I fussy cut the floss holder and then wrapped the thread around it.  It's popped up with foam tape for dimension.  To go along with the cards vintage sewing theme, I machine stitched the panels and added some Ivory Crocheted Lace and wove Leather Tan Vintage Seam Binding through it.

Would you like to win the new Cute As a Button  stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.

You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday, May 26th with the winner being announced during the release party chat.

Thanks A Latte

Today is a wonderful challenge Blog Hop.  The teams at Your Next Stamp and Ribbon Carousel are hopping together, so please make sure you visit all of the blogs.

Debra has provided us with a fun sketch to play with this week.

I'm super excited that Your Next Stamp is this week's sponsor because I'm able to give you a little sneak peek at one of the newest images to be released.  And to see more, be sure to check out the YNS Blog tomorrow and participate in the April Release Blog Hop.

This little cutie is Latte Ellie.  Although I don't drink coffee of any sort (my caffeine comes in the form of a Sunkist soda every morning) I LOVE coffee images!  Totally weird, I know.  ;)  And I thought this new image would look cute paired with some new paper from Echo Park (Note to Self).  I swear I have more 6x6 paper pads than a person could ever possibly need or use, but I just can't help myself...it's my weakness and I'm okay with that!

I used some yummilicious Ecru Crochet Trim that I then weaved Walnut Brown Vintage Seam Binding through.  Below is a video tutorial that I did awhile back showing how I do that.

Hopefully my creation has inspired to you play along with us this week at the Ribbon
Carousel Challenge Blog.  Your creation can be anything you'd like, just be sure you use ribbon, bakers twine, lace, thread...(anything that comes on a spool).

And for the entire month of April you can get 25% off at the Ribbon Carousel

Thankssssss

Our There She Goes Challenge this week is brought to us by Corinna.  She has challenged us to make a card using Ribbon.  The sky is the limit...use ribbon any way that your little crafty heart desires.

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a card or project using metal embellishments, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (April 16th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!
  • By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)
  • You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG151 so we can check out your beautiful work!

I was recently in need of a thank you card so I used this silly little snake image from the Zoo-pendous stamp set.  There are tons of hilarious sentiments in the set, but I did a little masking job with two of the sentiments to create this one.  I think it turned out ssssssuper CUTE if I do say so myself!!  ;)    Ha Ha!!

My papers are from My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose Collection (Gertie) and the Olive/Lime Grosgrain ribbon is from the Ribbon Carousel.

Seeing Stars!

This is my 2nd post today.
Scroll down to view my Sweet Stampin' creation.

Happy Saturday Everyone.  It's time for another fabulous Sweet Stop Sketch with a twist...
~ Starstruck ~
I've made yet another Thank you card...I hope you all aren't sick of seeing those.  :)
Nathan just recently started playing soccer and I was surprised at what an absolute natural he is.  Last week during his very 1st game he scored 4 of the 5 goals made by his team!! He was running up and down that field non-stop like a pro; I had to beg him to come over to the sidelines and take a drink of water.  Oh, and since none of the boys could agree on a team name the coach decided to call them "The ANIMALS" LOL  :)  So this adorable image from Your Next Stamp - Corey the Soccer Lion makes the perfect Thank You card to give to the coach at the end of the season.

Copic's Used:
Mane: E50, E31, E25, E35, YR24, E29
Body:  E35, Y26, Y31, Y21, E50
Shirt: V17, V15, V12, V01
Grass: YG95, YG93, YG25, YG21

Oh and see...I even finished the inside!  Yay Me!!  :)
I'll have Nathan write his name on the star.

And here's my little "Animal" :)
How cool is he?!?!  :)

So Sweet

It's time for another Copic Creations Challenge.  WOW, has September flown by for you too?  I can't believe it's half over already.  But that's also the start of a new Copic Creations Challenge...
~ Fur with a Twist ... No Brown Fur ~

You will see many gorgeous samples with various techniques used to color fur on the Copic Creations Challenge Blog...mine's not one of them!!  Fur and I don't really get along.  I've tried...oh how I've tried (I hear you laughing Tracy) but the poor creatures I'm coloring only end up looking as if they've been electrocuted.  Hey, I even tried again for this challenge and had to know when to give up and just go with what I know.  So my little bear may not look all fuzzy wuzzy but he's still pretty darn cute, right?

We are sponsored this week by

and I was generously given Lenny Fruit 3 to play with.  I love having a few Thank You cards on hand so I decided this image would be perfect!!  The sentiment is from MFT (Thanks a Bunch) and was stamped on a Die-namics Bracket Tab.  I dug through some old scrapbook papers to find this DP from Creative Imaginations.  I've been wanting to use those rhinestone cherries for over a year now and I'm so happy to finally have them on a project.

I grabbed a handful of RV Copics and just went crazy...  :)
Bear:  RV34, RV32, RV23, RV21, RV10, RV000
Cherries: R59, R29, R24, R20, YG97, YG95, YG25, YG21

It's been awhile since I said "thank you" to all of you who leave me such sweet comments.  They truly are  like getting tiny little gifts each day from your friends. You are all so encouraging and it means a lot to me that you stop by my little blog and say "hello"  :)  I wish I could send this card to all of you!!  xoxo

Thank You

This is my 2nd post today...please scroll down to view my Sweet Stampin' card.

This card is for my sister's boss and owner of VanWebber Upholstery.  Rick and my sister have worked together for so long he is like family.  When I mentioned how faded our patio furniture had become he generously offered to re-upholster it for me.  This card is to say THANKS!!  :)  :)  My sister's home page on her office computer is my blog (how sweet is that?!?!) and they both take a peek each day at my work.    She knew I had this image from Stampavie, Ruffles Get Well Soon and said she thought that it would make a perfect card for Rick.  Although it's a get well soon image (and I imagine Rick probably has a sore paw hand after all the work he's done for me) but more importantly it just scream re-upholster me!!!  LOL  If this were my chair I would have it have it re-upholstered for sure.  It's a little too floral and fru fru for my taste.

The bottom cushion and slippers were popped up with foam tape for added dimension.   The DP is a new favorite of mine from My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found - Portobello Road).  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things (Thanks a Bunch).    I lost the daylight and couldn't get a good photo to show the layers.

I loved this weeks awesome sketch from the The Sweet Stop.  Be sure to stop by to see the fabulous samples the other Sugar Babies have created with this sketch to inspire you with.

September Sweet Stampin' Guest Designer

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope those of you in the states are enjoying your long Labor Day weekend.  We have plans to finish up a few lingering summer projects around the house and hopefully take a dip in the pool too before the weekend ends :)

I'm excited to share to be able to finally share with you that I've been asked to Guest Design for the month of September for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge.  And this week the challenge is No Birthday Cards along with an optional sketch.  You can find all the details and view all the beautiful samples the design team has created over at the Sweet Stampin' blog.

I've created a thank you card featuring a CC Designs image - Kiki with Puppy.  I love the simplicity of this card and only used a single sheet of designer paper from Memory Box (Gossamer).  I added a lattice arch border punch and topped it with some ruffled pink ribbon.

I hope you will check back later today to see my Sweet Stop Sketch post!

Hoopy Birthday YNS

Hi and Welcome to YNS' 2nd Birthday Blog Hop, I am so happy you are here celebrating with us and our wonderful guest designers! If you'd like to participate in the blog hop and have not arrived here from Susan's blog, then CLICK HERE to be taken to the start of the hop.

What fun would a birthday party be without games and prizes?  We have a fun little puzzle for you to solve along the hop  and when you do, you will be entered into the drawing for one of TWO amazing YNS prizes!  (Not everyone has a puzzle piece so you need to pay attention, and click on the puzzle pieces, and follow the directions as you find them along the way)  When you are done put them all together for your chance to win!  You have until Monday, August 15th at Midnight EST.

In celebration of Your Next Stamp's 2nd birthday, I have created this sweet Hoopy Birthday card!!
This little sweetheart is part of the new August release called Hula Hoop Fhiona.  She comes with the Hoopy Birthday sentiment that you see as well as one other.  Isn't she adorable?!?!  I've used some sweet DP from Pink Paislee - Hometown Summer.  This paper just begged me to use my new picket fence border punch from Martha Stewart and MFT grass die.  I used Stickles on her headband and hula hoop for some fun sparkle.

And to keep the celebration going, I created another card using one of my favorite Your Next Stamp images, Asha from India.  I've embossed the solid color paper panels and paired it with DP from My Mind's Eye - Life of the Party.  My little mixture of Shimmerz and Cotton Candy Stickles was used to create the sheer sparkle on her Sari.  I was inspired by the Sari's I've seen the women in my husbands family wear; they are made of the most beautiful shimmering fabrics.

Your next stop along the hop is the very talented Diana.  Good Luck and I hope you enjoy the hop!!

What's Cooking?

I'm finally back after a little break with a sample for the Sweet Stop Sketch.  Korin has another fabulous sketch this week.  For my image I've used Mo Manning's, What's Cooking?   I made this card for my Sister-InLaw who made my family dinner and then brought it over to us last week.  It was such a treat to have a delicious homemade Indian dinner of Curry Chicken and Roti.  I tried giving the image a darker Indian skin tone but one of my markers had run dry so she just ended up having a bit of a tan instead.  LOL.  The DP is Cosmo Cricket - Garden Variety and finished off with a Jute string tied into a knot and covered with a button.

We have some new Sugar Babies joining us starting this week!! Please be sure to stop by and check out their gorgeous sketch samples.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

You're Fabulous

This is my second post for the day...Please scroll down for my YNS challenge post.

I am so excited to share this card with you today.  We are having a new challenge beginning today at 7 Kids College Fund...

~ Circles and Circle Shaped Cards ~

I'll just be honest...when I saw this challenge coming up I broke out into a sweat.  I have only done one other circle card and I wanted to burn it!!  So I was going to take the easy way out and just have circles in my design.  But as I was playing around with pleating the ribbon it magically transformed itself into a circle card!!  LOL  Pleating the ribbon was super easy and if you need a tutorial...THIS ONE is pretty much exactly what I did.

My image is from The Greeting Farm, Cheeky Cherry Collection - Glamour.  I just love this stamp and couldn't wait to ink her up and color make up.  This is my first attempt at coloring makeup and I think it turned out pretty good!!  I gave her smoky eyes using the Warm Grey Copics and green eyes using YG63.   The DP is from MME, Penny Lane and although it has LOTS of sparkle already in the paper, I just had to add the bling flourish.  And for even more fun...I put the image on a wobbler.  It's a plastic springy thing that makes the card bobble around when you touch it...making the card so much fun to play with too!!   I used a banner sentiment which is computer generated to give her a place to sit.

This card was made for my dear friend Jeri.  (Yep, she's sure to see it before it arrives in her mailbox - sorry to ruin the surprise, Jeri)  It's a just a little something to let her know how much I treasure our friendship and to also thank her for some goodies she sent to me recently.

Challenges:
Lexi's Creations = #39 Friendship
Simon Says Stamp & Show = Anything Goes
Aly's Sunday Challenge = #41 Shaped Cards
Creative Inspirations = #59 Glitzy & Bling
Lets Ink it Up = #14 Embellish it
Sentimental Sundays = #54 Anything Goes
Do You Stack Up = #18 Purple

I hope you will join us at 7 Kids College Fund and link up your Circle creation!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Whiff of Joy Thank You

We are celebrating our 2nd anniversary this week at the Whiff of Joy challenge blog.  So this week we as a team are saying thank you to so many people: our followers for making the challenge what it is, our past and present design team members for all their beautiful creations and our generous sponsors, Simon Says Stamp and of course Katharina the owner of Whiff of Joy for her continued support of the challenge blog.

I chose to use Willow with Cookies as my Thank You image.  I've just always thought of "thank you" whenever I've seen this sweet girl offering a big warm plate of yummy cookies.  I also think it would make a great tag attached to some homemade goodies.     Please join us and make your own thank you card using a Whiff of Joy image and you could win a $25 Gift Certificate from Simon Says Stamp.  Make sure to check out the other gorgeous work created by our very talented DT.

Since this is such a special thank you, I really hate that this is one of my least favorite cards ever.  The coloring is just a mess and I really should have recolored this image but I was simply too tired and running short of time so I had to use it. Not to mention the card design just never would turn out the way I was picturing it in my head.  But I do love that big flat bow!!!  I'm going to do more of those.

Sorry no close up....I just didn't like it!!  :(
And I'll update later with the Copic's and the Recipe.
Again I'm doing this really late, and I need to get to bed!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

2 Cute - Thank You Cat

Good morning everyone!!  I'm a little late this morning getting this posted after a wonderful 3 day Memorial Day weekend.  Hope your weekend was great too!  My weekend started on Friday evening when I went to a crop and dinner with my friend Jennifer where we had a blast!  The next morning my sister and I went to the Orlando Scrapbook Expo where I was able to finally spend the money that had been burning a hole in my pocket for the last few months.  LOL :)  So many new goodies to play with and to organize.  I was also able to meet in person my blogging buddy Kerri.  ~Hi Kerri!! ~  She is super talented and I was able to scope out some of her new goodies too.  I finished up the weekend helping my adorable husband assemble a MEGA playgound for the kids.   I'm exhausted, but a good exhausted.  :) Okay, enough about my weekend.

I let my 2 year old daughter Brooke choose which 2 Cute Rubber Stamp image for me to use this week and she chose Thank You Cat.  I've been wanted to use this image before it was even a stamp.  How is that?  Well, Heidi the Owner/Designer of 2 Cute Rubber Stamps shows her sketches on her Blog and asks her fans for feedback on them. It helps her to know what you'd be interested in seeing turned into a digital, cling or wood mounted stamp. When I saw her sketch of Thank You Cat, I let her know that I'd love to see it as a stamp...okay I begged. LOL But the point is, she listened and now here it is. :)

Make sure you pay a visit to Heidi's Blog where you can make comments and suggestions on her sketches. Your favorite just might be turned into a stamp during the next 2 Cute release. She also keeps you updated on everything that is going on with 2 Cute and showcases fan projects as well.

I'm going to be taking a bit of a blogging/crafting break.  I've been doing so much playing that now all my work and other projects are all piling up on me.  So I'll be using this time to catch up on housework :( and organize all those new goodies I got this weekend. :)  I'll see you in about a week!!
