iGraduated

Yesterday, my sweet little man graduated from Kindergarten.  I think someone must have hit the fast forward button because I can't believe it's already June!!   He's had such a great year and I'm so very proud of him.  Let me tell you, people....Kindergarten is HARDCORE!!   Last week, I spent an entire day in his classroom and got to experience his day right alongside him.  Those kids have full schedules that are jammed packed with learning and activities...they go FULL-THROTTLE the entire day.  I was so exhausted that afternoon when we arrived home from school that I immediately fell asleep on the sofa...I'm not cut out for Kindergarten!!  LOL

Here's the card I made, Nathan to celebrate his graduation.  I started with a Smokey Shadow cardstock base and layered with Taffy cardstock using my Perfect Layers tool.  The There She Goes - ConGRADulations stamp set image was colored with Copics, cut out and then popped up using foam tape.  I chose designer papers from My Mind's Eye (Oliver) since these were his schools colors.  I stamped the sentiment on a fishtail banner and added the year using MFT's By the Numbers die-namics.

I'm a little sad that this chapter on his "babyhood" is coming to a close, but he's so ready to be a big kid.  And for the first time he's about to experience the magic that is Summer - all of those lazy days filled with fun and most importantly NO School!!   As for me?  I'm not gonna lie about how excited I am about getting to sleep in today!!  ;)

As a previous TSG Trendsetter I'm always looking to play along with their challenges and since I kept things pretty close to CAS (Clean and Simple) - I'm going to enter this card into the TSG CAS Challenge going on right now.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Hope your day is just ducky

Happy Birthday Jessica!!

I'm so excited to be joining a HUGE group of talented former and current TSG Trendsetters (and a few very special friends) today for a surprise Birthday Blog Hop for, Jessica Knutsen.  Jessica is my dear friend and owner of There She Goes clear stamps.  This past March, Jessica along with 7 other of my closest friends all came together to my home where I had the pleasure of hosting an EPIC girls weekend that will not soon be forgotten!!  :)

Jessica, I hope you have a fabulous birthday and a year full of love, happiness and success!!
Here is my birthday card for you, my friend!!

One of my favorite things about TSG clear stamps are the hilarious and sometimes cheeky sentiments that go along with the images.  I created my card using the Lucky Duck stamp set.  I started with a white cardstock base and designer paper from My Mind's Eye (Honey) The Sweetest Thing collection.  After using my Perfect Layers tool, I rounded the corners and did a little machine stitching.  The duck and cattail image were both stamped onto Kraft cardstock.  The duck was stamped a second time onto white cardstock, colored with Copic markers and then cut out and adhered over the stamped image on the kraft.  A bit of black and cream gingham ribbon and a button threaded with twine finish things off.

I was SO excited about the products I received from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  I'm a huge fan of using Foam Squares for adding depth and dimension to my cards.  I started with a Vintage Cream cardstock base and layered with Kraft cardstock using my Perfect Layers tool.  I embossed the kraft cardstock with a chicken wire embossing plate from Taylored Expressions.  The designer papers are from My Minds' Eye XXX collection.  I stamped the cute little rooster and chick stamps from There She Goes -Poultry In Motion in Momento Tuxedo Black before coloring them with my Copics.  The sentiment was stamped using MFT's Black Licorice Ink.  Most of the paper panels as well as the sentiment panel are all popped up using Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives giving my card lots of fun layers and dimension.  I also used their E-Z Runner adhesive to adhere all the layers.  The teal green twill ribbon and the button threaded with twine were added for a little texture.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy hopping!!  :)

Candy Cane Seeds

For our There She Goes challenge this week we'd like to see your Season of Giving themed cards and projects.  TSG offers so many different stamps, and SEVERAL of them feature things that are perfect for this challenge.  It is also There She Goes (Again!) Week, and we are featuring THREE gorgeous stamps sets.

For my project, I used the No Peeking stamp set and Just for You stamp set and dies to create a tiny vile of Candy Cane Seeds.

The seeds were then delivered to my children by our family's Elf on the Shelf, Holly.  The kids were to plant the seeds into a pot of sugar also brought by the elf.

The very next morning they work up to find that Candy Cane's had popped up exactly where they had planted the seeds the day before.  :)

The Trendsetters went all-out this month and made some really spectacular cards, tags and other projects... Take a look HERE and then add your own.

Christmas Smashbook

I'm back with my final There She Goes project for the week and I must admit that this assignment always causes me to break out into a cold sweat.  But then I remembered that it had been awhile since I had added anything to my Smashbook and so this gave me the push I needed to get some of it done.

Inspiration was found by the sentiment in the TSG Holiday Cheer stamp set I had sitting on my desk.
It reminded me of my most favorite Christmas photos ever and knew that I needed to add them into my book.  Since I had tons of Christmas papers and other goodies already laying out, I just sort of grabbed a few things and called it good.  :)  The Holiday Cheer sentiment was stamped using Walnut Stain distressing ink and the papers are from Simple Stories, Handmade Christmas collection.

Frayed Cord Wreath - Tutorial

It's the season for giving and being a Stamper/Crafter that means presentation is everything.  :)  But this time of year makes our busy schedules even MORE hectic.  So I made a few of these easy to create, Frayed Wreaths to decorated the gift bags I will be giving to teachers and friends this year.

And to show you just how easy it is to do I've created a step-by-step photo tutorial.

With everything seen here...there are MORE than enough supplies to create 10 or more gift bags.

To finish the wreath off I used a banner from the Just For You die set and a sentiment from the Holiday Cheer stamp set, both from There She Goes.  The bright red cotton twill ribbon & the cording I used to create the wreath are all from the Ribbon Carousel.  The little jingle bells are tied using some twine.

Tag....You're It!!

This week our There She Goes Challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, ME!  :)
To play along, you just need to make a tag...whether it be on a card or just the tag itself!  I love making tags, especially at Christmas time.  It adds such a personal touch to all those wrapped  packages you will be giving to family and friends.

I can fuss and fuss over a card for an embarrassingly long time and although you'd think tags would go much faster, they unfortunately are not exempted from my madness.  But once I had settled on a design that I was happy with, things went rather quickly.

To create my tag, I started with the  Just For You die set and then added an image and sentiment from the No Peeking stamp set. They go together perfectly and are the perfect size for gift tags.  The papers I used are from Echo Parks, This & That Christmas collection....can we say LOVE?!?!    I love it so much that I had to order another paper pad to horde for later.  Some  ivory crocheted ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel & a mini clothes pin finish it off.

Friendship never melts away

For our There She Goes challenge this week we'd like to see your Winter themed cards and projects.  Snow, snowmen, snowflakes...just make it wintery!!   TSG offers so many different stamps, and SEVERAL of them feature things that are perfect for this challenge.  It is also There She Goes (Again!) Week, and we are featuring THREE gorgeous stamps sets.

This is my favorite day of the feature - when all of the Trendsetters share their NEW cards made with the featured sets.   I've used the Stick Together stamp set for my card.  It's a lovely snowflake and sentiment set that you can pair with any other holiday/winter stamp set.   I was inspired by this card I found on Pinterest and tweaked to make it my own.  Rather than put pattern paper behind the snowflake die negative I added some of my favorite Crushed Teal Silk Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.  The bow was made with my Bow Easy and a red button threaded with Cherry Bakers twine was added to the center.  Tiny rhinestones were added to the centers of the snowflakes and on the sentiment as well.  The inside paper panel was created using the Perfect Layers tool.

The Trendsetters went all-out this month and made some really spectacular cards... Take a look HERE and then add your own.

Tanks so much!

This week our There She Goes Challenge is brought to us by Trendsetter of the week, Debby!
She's challenging us to dress up our coloring by adding Stickles, Glossy Accents, Glitter, etc.

I used this weeks There She Goes challenge to created a Thank You card for my next door neighbors.  They are the sweetest elderly couple and spoiled my kids rotten last week by bringing them each little treat bags of candy and movie passes for Halloween!!

I've had the idea for this card swimming in my head since the summer and I'm glad I finally had the chance to create it!!  ;)  I used a tiny little fish tank image from the super adorable There She Goes - Enjoy Life By the Sea stamp set.  I dressed up my coloring by adding Glossy Accents to the fish bowl.   I did a little machine stitched to the designer papers from My Mind's Eye (Tangerine) collection and used Deconstruction Sketch #73 for my layout.  The card layers were created using the Perfect Layers Perfect Layers tool and the sentiment is computer generated using a free font called Just The Way You Are.

Some Mummy Loves You

This week our There She Goes Challenge is brought to us by Trendsetter of the week, Kelly!
She's challenging us to make a card/ project inspired by the colors of her favorite drink:
Pumpkin Spice Coffee.

I used this weeks There She Goes challenge to created a very simple, yet fun Halloween treat project.  You start with a full size Hershey's candy bar and wrap it with white crepe paper (party streamers).  I then sponged on some Walnut Stain distressing ink to age the mummy and finished it off by gluing on some googly eyes!!  :)  I used my favorite spooky stamp set from There She Goes - Hauntingly Delightful and the new Just for You banner die to create a fun little tag.  My kids have gone crazy for this and are begging me to make more!!

Just stand back, he’s got this…

Seriously?!?!  How cute is this Ninja?
Once again, I used designer papers from Echo Park's Chillingsworth...what can I say, I really like it!  LOL  The background was embossed with a Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder (although it is hard to tell from the photo).  The sentiment was stamped on designer paper and then cut out with a MFT Tab Dia-namic.  I used some yummy Orange V-Striped Twill paired with some fun Parrot Green Mini Pom Pom trim from the Ribbon Carousel.

Eye Want Candy!

We are now on day two of this month's There She Goes SPECIAL Halloween release, and today we have something I think you are going to LOVE!!   Created by Torico to go along with the original Just For You set, this Halloween Additions set is perfect for all your Halloween gift giving needs. Not only has she created some of the CUTEST images and sayings, there are now DIES to go along with it!!

For my project today, I created a French Fry treat holder.  Sorry, no template to share - I just used the tiny little fry box you get in your Happy Meal at McDonalds as a template!  :)   My designer papers are from Echo Park's Chillingsworth.  I used the banner stamp and then printed my own sentiment inside before using one of the nesting banner dies to cut it out.   The banner is popped up with foam dots and the ends were bend to give it depth and dimension.

Just For You-Halloween Additions is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 28 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

Just For You Dies are a 4 piece set and will sell for $31.50.
