As American as Apple Pie

In honor of Independence Day tomorrow I went with a Red, White & Blue theme.
And what could be more American than apple pie?!?!   The adorable farmer's wife and apple pie image are from There She Goes just released Poultry in Motion stamp set.

I used papers from Authentique (Glory) and paper pieced her apron with it as well.  I machine stitched all the paper panels and used Fishtail Die-namics from MFT.   I've threaded some Navy Blue Seam Binding through some Natural Spidy Crocheted Ribbon...which I think is becoming a signature style of mine.  The scalloped kraft panel as well as the image have been popped up with pop-dots for dimension.  The sketch I used is last weeks  #161 Sweet Sunday Sketch.

And I may be stretching things a bit....(so use your imagination) but this card is also for this weeks There She Goes photo inspiration challenge.  I was inspired by the bunting in the photo with my crocheted lace and that it looks somewhat like a bake sale.  Click HERE to join our challenge this week for your chance to win a $5 Gift Certificate to the TSG Store
And don't forget that the Ribbon Carousel would like to see all of your Red, White & Blue projects.  Your creation can be anything you'd like use be sure to use ribbon, twine, lace (basically anything that comes on a spool) and this weeks theme.  Click HERE to join our challenge.

My husband has most of this week off and I'm so excited about all of the family time we will have!!  For the 4th tomorrow, we plan to go out to my Mom's for a BBQ.  I'm looking forward to seeing my sister and her family, hanging out by the pool and watching the kids fish in the pond and fireworks later that night.  And Saturday we will be taking the boys to the Daytona 400 Nascar race.  That is going to be a LONG day in the heat....pray that I make it!!  LOL  I hope everyone has a fun  & safe 4th of July!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Hi Wendy. I have to laugh as your plans for the 4th sound very much like mine. We are headed to my parent's house to visit with my Sister and her family as well as my Mom & Dad. We will be having a BBQ too, but if we want to swim we will need to do it here at home first as we are the only ones that still have a pool. Love our pool, wouldn't give it up! Anyway, I will stop boring you and let you know that I came by to wish you a Happy 4th and to tell you that I just love your card. I never even thought of that kind of stamp for today and now I wish I had made a card with Cheeky Cherri from the Greeting Farm for a card for today. Thanks for the seed that you have put in my head. lol.. Have a great time at your Mom's. Happy 4th. Hugs, Lisa G
