My First Coloring Tutorial

This weeks Sweet Stop Sketch is all about PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I had my heart set on using this adorable digital image from The Paper Shelter called I May Have Exaggerated A Bit.  The second I saw all that fun hair of her's I couldn't wait to color it....so she has PINK hair.  This is the first time I have ever colored hair something other than a natural color...and I LOVED it!!

I've also created a Coloring Tutorial on YouTube showing you how I colored her hair.  Keep in mind...This is my first video so go easy on me.  Nathan was playing trains right under my table (LOUDLY) and he kept trying to be part of the "show" by sticking his toys, etc. under the camera...Grrr.  At one point Nathan and Brooke BOTH climbed into the same chair I was in so they could get a better look, which is totally "normal" but a little difficult when you're trying to shoot a video of you coloring.  I was able to edit most of the distracting madness out....Anyway...I hope you enjoy it!!  :)

Thanks for stopping by today!!

What a wonderful card, Wendy! Wow, your colouring! I have a girl all coloured with pink hair right now too... when my daughter saw her a few days ago, she had to ask, why is her hair pink? Kids! My reply... because I felt like it! lol

Thanks for the video, off to watch it right now.

Love the pink hair I haven't tried coloring hair a different color than natural hair colors but I think I will. Love hearing the little guys voice, what a cutie!

Absolutely brilliant Wendy - great hearing your speak & I found the tutorial so helpful. The way your spider web edging picks up on both the patterned papers is brilliant adding such depth & texture to the whole. I have to say I love the way you gave her such a characterful expression too. I enjoyed your tutorial immensely. Thank you so much.

AWESOME tutorial, girlie! I expected you to sound much more manly. SNORT! You should seriously consider doing online classes so people like me who are too far away to attend one of your classes could still participate! Your kids' voices on the video just may be my favorite part!

Wendy, I'm so glad you chose pink for her hair! Such a cute image and it really pops with that color!! It's the rave thing now, with all the teens anyway...you did a fantastic job with the tutorial, too! I never have any classes from anyone near me, either, so it's great to see tutorials like this to help me. I don't have many copics and am still nervous about using them...teehee. Will definitely start trying again. Great Halloween card!

Hi Wendy. Great card and I am so glad you shared how you colored her hair. I love your high contrast! I think I would be nervous to do it, but I love it!!! I also love your little one asking who you were talking to. That is better than your card even. lol... Thanks for sharing both your talents and your babies with us. Hugs, Lisa G
