I'm so excited about our challenge this week over at Paper Sundaes. We would like for you to create a project using Mixed Mediums. Which means use your Copics and chalk like I did or colored pencils, distressing ink or watercolors. Doesn't matter which two mediums, just use at least two.
And we have an awesome sponsor this week....
They are offering a $25 gift certificate to one lucky winner!!
I'm so excited for you all....wish I could win!! :)
I'm so excited for you all....wish I could win!! :)
Maybe I'm a little bit freaky but the second I saw this Kraftin' Kimmie image, Zelda the Zombie, I HAD to have her!!! There was no waiting (I'm on a bit of a spending freeze right now), had to have her right NOW!! I just think she's the most adorable zombie and best Halloween image EVER!! I love her. I really really love her!! :) She's colored with Copic markers and I used chalk inks to create her background. Those are my mixed mediums.
***By the way, never use Copic markers over any other medium. It will ruin the tip of the marker. You can put other mediums on top of a image colored with Copic's but just not the other way around. Don't want anyone ruining their markers***
Challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday = #75 Distress it (Sanded spiderweb after embossing it)
All That Scraps = Lace (The black lace ribbon behind image)
Bee Crafty = #37 Anything Goes
I know that not many people do Halloween cards, but I do. I send them out to our family and close friends ever year. I always dress the kids up in their costumes before I mail them all out and include a photo along with the card. Everyone loves seeing what the kids will be for Halloween that year.
I also love to have us all dress up in a coordinating theme.
This year the babies got to pick and they chose....Toy Story 3!
Here's this years cast of characters:
Brooke (2) = Jessie
Nathan (3) = Buzz Lightyear
Amanda (10) = Little Bo Peep
Michael (11) = Woody
Mommy = Barbie
Daddy = Ken
It's going to be so fun!! And don't worry, I'll post pictures for you all to see!! LOL
Here's a photo of last year
Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf
My mom and sister actually made that wolf costume for me
(remember my lack of sewing skills, LOL) and it was AWESOME!!!
Check out the Big Bad Wolf with the Binkie!! LOL
So what does your family do for Halloween?? I'd love to know!!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope those of you in the States are enjoying your Labor Day Weekend!!

Hi Wendy,
Ha ha, what an 'ugly' stamp and what a beauty of a card you created with it!! Love the colors and the spiderwebs on it, very pretty and scary!! ;-)
Wow, the costumes of last year are amazing!! Can't wait to see how you look like this year! In my country we don't celebrate Halloween, so no dressing up for me and unfortunately also no long weekend this weekend... but wishing all the best to you!
Hugs, Wendy
Hey Wendy! Super cute card. I Love that stamp to. I too love to send out a few halloween cards. Let's see for halloween my kids dress up and my brother and lil' girl come over to my house and we WALK the neighborhood! I grew up, up north...so there is no driving around the neighborhood in my family! My kids want candy, they walk! haha My husband is always like...let's just drive...I'm like...no only in Florida do they drive around...we are walking dangit!!
Btw - congrats on your GDT for 7 kids, that card was way cute!
Adorable card. Love that image.
As our girls are too old for trick-or-treating we throw a huge friends and family halloween party where everyone comes in costume. Last year the girls dressed up as Velma and Roxie from "Chicago".
Oh my goodness, this is AWESOME!!! I just love how you colored that super ugly but super cute zombie:) Love the pic of your cutie pies too! That wolf costume is fabulous, but it looks so hot! We learned the first year we moved down here that Halloween is a lot warmer in Florida:)
Wendy this is fantabulous...amazing colouring. I love Halloween and decorating the house and I make up goodie bags for the kids that come trick or treating...it's not as popular over here in the UK but I love it. Your little ones look soooo cute in their costumes...this year Holly doesn't want to dress up...she's 12!!

fantastic halloween card, love those cute costumes! We have a very busy Halloween, street parade, parties and of course trick or treating! Going to be a busy weekend! many thanks for joining in the CCT challenge, hugs Debx
WOW! I love the coloring on this one...absolutely perfect and definitely my type of image!! Looks awesome!! I love Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf..lol who needs Team Jacob when ya have this cutie! You'll be making their costumes in no time with those great sewing skills you're picking up!! How I miss the days of my boys dressing up like this. Every Halloween is a little quieter for us, but I love when the little kiddos come to the door!
Those background panels are amazing - love the spider's web & the black lace & ribbon. We never celebrated Halloween - but your dressing up pics reminded me of a Swedish Easter custom that I very vaguely remember from about 40 years ago - dressing up as old fashioned witches with a scarf & dirnddl skirt, shawl & apron.
