Joy to the World

Our challenge this week at Paper Sundae's is Christmas.
Can you believe it's almost here already?!?!
I chose to use CC Designs, Angel Emma.
You can purchase your's at our sponsor, Simon Says Stamp.

I chose this image thinking it would be a good gauge as to whether or not I should use this image as my families Christmas card this year which I will mass produce.  We have a HUGE family.  My husband is the youngest of 10!!  So I have lots of brother and sister in-laws and adult nieces and nephews too.  Our Christmas card list is really big, so I need it to be fabulous but fast.

Well, this wasn't fast and as for fabulous...I like it but I don't LOVE it.  I really really wanted to use the music sheet embossing folder that I bought and I've never used.  I thought it would be perfect, but I just couldn't make it work with this design.  This is a simple card, but it seriously took 2 DAYS to finish.  I don't know if it's the design or the paper that's the problem.  I know if I want to mass produce this it will have to be smaller for sure.  Does anyone have a suggestion on how I could work in my music sheet embossing folder?  And if you have a visual suggestion that's all the better, just send me a link.

I am really happy with the image though. Love all the sparkle and it was quick to color.  So I think it will be the image I use for our Christmas cards for sure.  Now I just need a smaller, better design.

love it! wonderful coloring and papers are great too! I don't think it's the right thing for mass producing - maybe you should try something with less coloring - I think I would go crazy if I had to color the same image 20 times ;)

What a pretty card!! I do love the image, and the sparkle that you gave it. Absolutely adorable!!! HUGE Christmas card list you have! I do love this card though and would love to find it in my box at Christmas..lol but I know what ya mean about mass production. You definitely have to feel the project to be able to produce so many cards with love. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be amazing!!!

Gave this some thought over the afternoon - the only way I can think of using the music embossing folder & this image for Mass production would be to take the image panel as it is as far as the burgundy scallops & place that onto the white sparkly cardstock embossed with the music folder. Then mat that onto a layer of burgundy card again. Edging with gold glitter on the edge of the sparkly white. Love the image & your colouring of it. I know what you mean about something needing to be quick - that's one large list.

Wendy, I love this card. The image is adorable and you've colored and sparkled her beautifully. I also happen to love the papers and the layout. But since you are the one having to mass-produce, you need to find a layout you love. Sorry, I've no suggestions for you.

Hi Wendy,

Oef, yes, with soooo many cards to make, you need it to be really quick and wasy to make! Is this one quick? With all the lovely glitters it absolutely doesn't look like it, so I think this one is a very good option! And the image is cute! I like it a lot - am I on the list? Hi hi!! Nope, just kidding, you have enough to make without your blogfriends on the list! ;-)

Hugs, Wendy

GORGEOUS!!! I adore your coloring and all the sparkle! I love the dp and layout too, although I can see why it's not a quick card:) What if you did an all white base with the music notes embossed, then added the oval with the image, and maybe a little strip of dp with the decoraive border on the bottom. Does that make sense?

I love the way this turned out! It's unfortunate that it took too long to be "the one" for this year. Would it go faster now that everything is figured out though?
Wow - youngest of 10! You have us beat in family size. My husband is the youngest of 5, and I'm the middle of 5 - so lots of people to keep track of here too.
