With Sympathy

Good Morning Everyone.  The card I'm sharing today my Mom asked me to make for a friend of her's who recently lost a loved one.  I think everyone will agree that Sympathy cards are the hardest cards to create.  I don't often see colored images used for Sympathy cards but those are the only type of stamps that I have to work with.  So going through my stamps I chose to use Juliet in the field of nasturtiums by Sarah Kay.  And to give the image and papers a more somber feeling I distressed the edges and then inked everything (including the lace) with Vintage Photo distressing ink.

The Sugar Babies have some gorgeous sketch samples to share with you this week!! Please be sure to stop by and check them out.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  1. Wendy I think you captured 'sympathy' wonderfully in this card. I can see this little girl sitting in a flower bed and thinking about times with her passed love one. Very touching! Your moms friend will appreciate it and love it!

  5. Lovely aged look to this & very right for the Sympathy theme - well done & good to see something outside the normal. It just gives the right mixture of thoughfulness - I can imagine her sitting talking to God about someone who is no longer here......... there's a peace somehow.
    Much love
