Paper Piecing for the insane - LOL

Did you catch that title? Yea...I totally lost my mind when I decided to paper piece the chair in this image. I hadn't really though it out when I started and realized too late as I was cutting how very detailed the chair was.  Oh well, whatcha gonna do?  LOL  I've finally used this adorable image from Lili of the Valley called Story Time. Those little girls reading a story together are just so sweet and I though this would make a fabulous image to use to make my sister a Mother's Day card. She a great Mom and I wanted her to know that I was thinking of her.

I choose my DP (October Afternoon's - Fly a Kite) because I wanted to use the story paper in the pad, which I thought tied in perfectly with the image.  But the chair was paper pieced using paper from October Afternoon's, Thrift Shop.  Playing with some new goodies I used Vintage Cream felt and Papertrey Ink's ric rac die to go across the paper panels.  Here's another item I'm going to have to hide from myself so that I don't use it on every card.  :)  The buttons are also from Papertrey Ink.

Challenges:
Card Makin' Mamas = For a Loved One (my sister)
Prairie Fairy Fridays = #52 For the Girls
Totally Papercrafts = #65 Recipe
Paper Romance = Your favorite die (Jumbo Ric Rac)
Simon Says Stamp = Paper piecing
Try it on Tuesdays Something Old (stamp) & Something New (Ric Rac die & felt)

Of course this card is also my Sweet Stop Sketch sample for this week, which was a lot of fun to work with.  Korin has the BEST sketches and even though some take me out of my comfort zone, they always turn out so great.  As you can see, I turned the sketch on it's side for my card.

The Sugar Babies have gorgeous sketch samples to share with
you today, so please be sure to stop by and check them out.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope all you Mommy's out there have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow.

WOW!! It is AMAZING!! Thank you so much what a great card! I know this took a lot of work and that means so much to me I LOVE IT and I LOVE YOU!!
Before I read your post I instantly thought of me and you when we were little and you would read to me. Heck I even remember that when we were about 8 to 10 you would read books to me because you wanted to share the story's with me and you were worried that I would not read the book myself. I enjoyed them more when you read them. I hope you had an amazing Mother's Day!!
