Get Well Soon

My husband has never asked me to make a card for him or anyone else before.  So I was touched when he mentioned he'd like me to make a card for a lady at a clients office who is very sick right now.  I thought the image should be cheerful, and bring a smile to her face, that's why I chose to use Stampavie's Mouse with Sunflower by Tina Wenke.  Don't you just love that giant sunflower that he's holding?! :)   I know that he makes me smile!   You can find a large selection of Stampavie and other popular stamp companies at 7 Kids College Fund.

This weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop has a optional twist to stamp your own background, so there is actually not even a bit of DP on this entire card.  (Shhh...I have a confession...I'm not a stamper.  Nope, really I'm not.   Can't do all that cool stuff with inks and silhouette images.  I even hold my breath each time I ink up an image because I'm afraid it's not going to come out.  LOL)  BUT...I am up for any challenge, so I pulled out some yellow marble cardstock and polka dot stamps from Papertrey Ink (don't even know why I have them, LOL) and created a dotted background.  Not hating the results and afraid I would mess it up if I continued, I opted to emboss the rest.  :)  And I used a simple yellow gold satin ribbon to finish it off.  Lastly, using my clear Spica pen for a touch of shimmer on the butterfly, bees and the center dark areas of the sunflower.

Oh my GAWD! You are so funny! Your public confession cracks me up! That image is so sweet and I just LOVE the way you colored that sunflower! My daughter's 1st communion is today so I may not get a chance to play along with the Sweet Stop Challenge today, but I will soon! Happy weekend!

I love the polka dots & the way they are picked up in the butterfly wings. I too love this little creature & it is a really super image for a Get Well wish. The bees just make me smile & his/her cheeky grin. The natural/neutral colours of you backgrounds porivde a lovely foil for the image & the aqua & green are super accents just enhancing the whole & providing a real 'pop" element.
