Birthday Wishes

I love this week's Sweet Stop sketch, but I had the toughest time making this card.

Why?  Well, on the afternoon I was making this card, the babies were seriously just stressing me the heck out!!
In the span of a few hours...

*  they knocked the hamster cage off it's little table
(poor little guy was scared to death, but fine)

*my freshly laundered, neatly folded towels that were stacked in a basket waiting to be put away were used to create a huge fort in the family room.

*Nathan someone fell off their chair while fighting having lunch and got a big goose egg on their head

* Brooke someone threw a handful of cheese crackers in the air to make it "rain" and then did a little giggle dance crushing them all to dust.  (Ughh!!)

*they climbed the pantry shelves and raided my secret stash of Reese's.  (got to find a better hiding place)

*  some sort of fashion show was going on in my closet that required every shoe I own to be taken out of their boxes and lined up to create a runway (that one impressed me, LOL)

It seemed the whole day that someone was screaming (them) or crying (me) until Daddy came home and we all just fell asleep from pure exhaustion.

I hope you will find some time this week to play along with us at The Sweet Stop.  As for me....I've got to go, it's quite and you know that's NEVER good!!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by today!
Wendy

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one that has days like that, you poor thing. I am always amazed how quickly the little ones can cause so much trouble, they must have special powers. Despite all of that you created another adorable card, I love all of the texture!! You are truly... Super Crafty Mom:)

First, I have to say I stated laughing when reading your post.....until the flashbacks started! My kids are 8 and 9 now so the chaos is slightly more controlled now.......on most days. Second, I need that stamp! Live how you paper pieced the embossed paper onto the sails and you coloring is awesome!

Boy oh Boy I almost forgot what it was like to have little ones running around! Sounds like an eventful day to say the least. Super cute card, I love your paper piecing on the little sailboat and how you stamped on the cork, perfect boy's card!

All the texture in this is lovely & that sail amazing. That border punch is so effective with this too for the shape makes me think of waves. I think that was quite a feat making this with all that going on, just glad everyone was OK, except for the laundry.

Awww something told me that the poor hamster would be visiting the floor sooner than later lol They're tough though, so no harm. I'm sorry to hear about all your distractions, but I have to admit they made me smile..lol I kinda...KINDA...miss mine being that age. At least you'll have funny memories to tell their girlfriends/boyfriends about..lol

Now on to the card...I love it!!! Love the sails on the boat, and the corkboard. I seen that in an Etsy store the other day...how cool! I'm loving seeing it on projects! Such a sweet card!
