Let's be Negative!!

It's time for a new challenge with Your Next Stamp and we want you to be Nicely Negative.
We want to see you use a white stamp image on dark cardstock.

Check out the Your Next Stamp blog for lots of ideas on different methods and techniques for achieving this look.

I've used Eek the Bat and Happy Haunting accessory stamps on my lollipop cover.
The lollipop cover is my own design but it's basically a matchbox fold with a tiny glue dot to keep it closed.

Now I'll be honest...I had an awful time at this challenge.  I just CANNOT do white ink very well at all. This silly, tiny little project took me over 1 day to complete.  I was SO FRUSTRATED!!   I tried every method that I've ever heard of, and still wasn't really happy with any of the results.
It's me...not the supplies.  LOL

Now, be sure to check out the other YNS DT Girls for wonderful examples of this technique; and enter the challenge for your chance to win 2 prizes.  One lucky winner chosen by random will receive $10 in YNS Stamp Bucks and the Winner Blinkie for their blog.  And the Top Pick Winner will receive $5 in YNS Stamp Bucks along with the Top Pick Blinkie for their blog.  (You must use a YNS image to be eligible for the Top Pick prize)  Our challenge will run for the next 2 weeks so you have lots of time to enter!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
Wendy

Oh and that cute little bat...I made that.  It's ceramic.  Before I discovered scrap booking, my sister and I painted ceramics (I guess I've always kind of colored, LOL) and I have tons of Halloween and Christmas decorations just like this.

Love the pruple content - that bat is so much more interesting purple & he looks amazing - I thought it was a toy to start & then - well all the detail etc...... just astounding. I don't like white either - white embossing powder co-operates........
The good thing about DT items is that we do things we might not choose.......

Hi Wendy!

Oeh, this project is sooo funny!!! Love it!!! That ceramic bat is sooo cute!! Love it in purple, my fave color!! And the matching bat stamp goes really well with it, what a perfect match!!! Your white on black turned out great, I think! I always make white with Versamark ink and then white embossing powder. I use a small brush to brush away the powder where I don't want it and then heat it. Works pretty well!
Love your project, Wendy!!!

Hugs, Wendy
