Paper Sundaes - Stitching

Who would have guessed my first DT card with Paper Sundaes would feature a challenge that I have ZERO skill at?!?!
STITCHING!!
I cannot even sew a button, or a hem, nothing!!  In high school I was required to sew a clothing item for a grade.  I went for the easy tank top, but it was the most lop-sided, uneven, crooked thing you ever saw.  I got an "F".  So I broke out into a sweat when I saw my first challenge would be stitching.  LOL

Obviously, this is faux stitching and I've now learned that I stink at that too.  I have no stitching templates but thank goodness I do have a paper piecer.  I had to make my own template on a word document and then print it out so my hole spacing would at least be even.  My hand had a cramp from poking all those holes.  LOL My husband did feel so sorry for me, that he offered to buy me a sewing machine and he would do it for me.  LOL  I distressed the edges to disguise my faux stitching but I think all I managed to do it bring attention to it.  :)  I also added a touch of Shimmerz to her shirt band and ruffled sleeves and used my Opaque White pen to add white dots to the flowers on her shirt.

The sponsor this week at Paper Sundaes is Belles 'n Whistles. I LOVE their stamp but realized that I didn't have any of their stamps (which gave me a perfect reason to place an order, shhhh) so I used a digital image from Elisabeth Bell called Little Rapunzel.  Isn't she beautiful?  Please come over, play along and join in on the fun at Paper Sundaes.

hmmm if I'm reading this right...your hubby offered to buy you a machine and do the sewing for you!...a man who offers to sew for you...can I borrow him he sounds like a wonderful hubby! LOL Beautiful card! Your faux stitching looks awesome! I can totally relate to you regarding your comments on stitching skills! I bought a mini machine just for crafting and I suck so bad at sewing that I was surprised the sales lady let me leave the store with it! LOL

This is just delightful - I love your colours - distressing has the same effect on me - the paper tearing kind, I'm OK with inking edges......
