It's Sunday...so it's time for a Paper Sundae's Challenge

Our challenge this week is METAL.  

You can use brads, paperclips, etc.  The sky's the limit, just use your imagination. I decided to really go outside of the box and go inside of the can.  :)I was drinking a soda when I realized what I was going to do for my DT card.  Don't you just love it when an idea strikes you like that?

I don't know if anyone's every done this before...I'm sure they have.  But I thought I would do a tutorial to show you how/what I did.

You will need the following:

Drink up a soda (Sunkist is my FAVORITE), rinse it and pull out your favorite embossing folder and die cutting machine.  You'll need a good pair of strong scissors, I used a pair of kitchen shears.  Carefully cut the can.  I had to puncture it with the scissors below the rim where the aluminum is thiner.  Run the can under the tap to make sure it's really clean and dry it off.  I cut both ends of the can off and cut it in half so that I had one large piece.  (Sorry I deleted that photo)  Please be very careful.  It is sharp and because it is so thin it will cut you like a paper cut.  

Now that you have your piece of aluminum you'll want to put it in your embossing folder and run it through your machine.  Don't worry about it harming it.  It's really very thin.  Good cardstock is thicker than this aluminum, believe me.

And there you have it!!  I of course shaped this up since it was all jagged by cutting it with my paper trimmer.  I have a Tonic guillotine cutter.  I'm not sure how well other cutters will do, but mine cut it like butter.

Use a good adhesive like Scor-Tape.  

And adhere it to your card.
