Have a Safe Trip

I'm back with another quick but really fun sketch this week from The Sweet Stop.  This card is for my niece.  She's traveling to Guyana (South America) next week to visit her parents and I thought this was the perfect excuse to use my The Greeting Farm, Journey stamp!!  I think she's just darling sitting there playing with her teddy on that huge stack of suitcases.

Once again I've used my Copics to perfectly color coordinate my embellishments.  The rhinestones I have are regular clear/crystal but I colored them with a Copic BG18 to match the aqua blue in my DP.    The sentiment is stamped on a Spellbinder, Star which is popped up on foam tape as is the image panel.  I tried a "Tip to Tip" technique with my Copics.  (I think that's the name of the technique)  It probably wasn't the smartest to try for the first time with Red's because I find that color tends to bleed the most.  And there is almost no fixing a red bleed with the colorless blender.  But as luck would have it, all the color stayed in the lines!  :)

I hope you will stop over at The Sweet Stop blog and see the beautiful samples the Sugar Babies have made to inspire you.  I hope you'll play along with us too!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Wendy

  2. Your shading on the image especially that hat band is amazing - there's such life in it. What a lovely card for your niece too - that's quite a journey. That was definitely brave with the reds - love the detail on her blouse.
