Dig your your holiday stamps Peeps, because it's Christmas in July this week at the Ribbon Carousel. Show us your projects with a Christmas theme.
Although this Silver Fairy image from Wee Stamps is not an actual Christmas themed image, I tried to make it Christmasy with the colors I chose. I love the warm brown and deep reds in the My Mind's Eye (Union Square) 6x6 paper pad. So I chose to started with a Candy Bar cardstock base and accented with a layer of Butter Mints cardstock. I tied each end of a strip of Natural Crocheted Ribbon into loose knots.

ReplyDeleteYour colouring really took my breath away in this one Wendy - more so than usual! A stunning card my friend!
ReplyDeleteOh Wendy, you whole card is just gorgeous! I love, love the papers that you have used. (I have them, and now I am getting them out. :O)) I also love the way you have colored her hair. If you don't mind I am going to try your hair color combo (been looking for the right brown) and see how well I do with it for my sample book. Love how it looks like real brown hair. I also think you have done magic with her dress as well. So so pretty. BTW, your are welcome for the comments to your kiddos. I think they truly did great and I think it is important to support young artist. You just never know who might be the next Amy Tangerine or Tim Holtz. lol... When my son was little he didn't have very good finger dexterity, so each night I would get into bed with him and his sister where we would each have the same coloring books and we would color for an hour. They both loved the Mom time and now at 15 it is a fond memory for them. I might add it helped him so much in school. Have a great day. Hugs, Lisa
ReplyDeleteI love the way you colored this stamp. I was already going to buy this digi stamp after seeing Suzanne J. Dean color her on YouTube using green Copics. The reds you used in addition to the papers definately made it Christmassy. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.
