After having just spent over a month planning my son, Nathan's Carnival themed 6th birthday party, I was inspired to create this card for my husbands birthday that is the same week as our sons. I fell in LOOOVE with this MayzyArts Lion Tamer image and enjoyed every single moment spent coloring it with my Copics.
When creating masculine cards, I do my best to keep the card design simple and the embellishments to a minimum which can sometimes be a little boring. So I found a fun way to add texture and dimension by using red crepe paper (party streamers) along the bottom portion of the card as well as on the photo corner at the top. The striped designer paper is from an older My Minds Eye Collection, Lost and Found Union Square. I used a Crown Boarder die from My Favorite Things and added clear rhinestones that were colored with a B29 Copic Marker to match the shade of blue in the image. The little tickets were cut out of some scrapbook paper from Imaginisce that I had in my stash. All of the card mat layers were created using my favorite Perfect Layers tool.
